Zorro is trained everyday, at least 2x per day. In the last couple of weeks he has proven to be a brilliant young dog who has a desire to serve. He has rapidly learned. He has super drive but can put it down to sit quietly with his master. His drive is an 8 out of 10 when he is working but can turn it off when requested. His drive makes training enjoyable. He has made good progress in:

Certificate: Morton has already passed the extensive German Character/temperament test (WESENSBEURTEILUNG) from the German SV.

Obedience: He is downing on command, sitting, coming, reversing when heeling. Finishing heeling around back. He is also already show trained.

On leash and off leash: On leash healing is done. Off leash healing and obedience begun.

retrieves : Zorro is excellent on retrieves, bringing the article, releasing the article.

drive enhancement: His drives are 8 out of 10. But they are for work. He is not keyed up like a working line or malinois. Instead his drives are applied to work or prey.

socialization: He is being socialized with different types of people and is very respectful. He has also been in show (top in show) where he had to behave well in order to participate.

manners: Food control has been relinquished to the owner. He has learned manners and sitting for the food, before being let out of the kennel, goes out a door after the owner.

BH pattern for the BH certificate: He is learning the pattern for the BH German certificate which precedes IGP.

Protection training: Basic bite training begun. Shows great promise. Quite an athlete, takes a full mouth bite.
He is a natural protector, curious and alert at all times. He is a true athlete and exhibits great potential for protection. He is crate trained, and can sleep all night in his crate. He bonds intensely and loves the company of his handler. He will easily bond to a new family/person.
Here he is just Chilling. He is a top athlete with super drive, but also can tone is down and chill out. Great balance.

Retrieves: Sometimes He is allowed to pursue, other times he must wait for command.
Excellent, Super drive. But can chill when not working.
Great Focus Learning manners (we go out first)
Protection started. He takes a full mouth bite.
Currently, I am working Zorro on “grip”.

- Temperament: Great integrity, rock solid nerve, confident, intelligent, loyal and very tolerant of other dogs (due to show training). Also has been tested in the SV Wesensbeurteilung test and shows no sensitivity to very loud sounds (like chain saw, guns) and very well behaved around other dogs.
